New Track Under Construction
MGMP us officially closing the track we had open at the fairgrounds.
Anyone riding out there may be charged with tresspassing and insurance
is cancelled.

However, we are working with the City of Safford on a new location that
should be better, bigger, and with great access. The track is going to
be located by the rifle and archery range on city property. To get
there you have to go north out of Safford on 8th ave and across the
river, then turn right at the y on airport rd. After a few miles you
turn right on dry lake rd. The track will be down about 1 mile on the
right hand side.
More info will be posted as we proceed.

Red Bud, Buchanan, MI
Round 6 of 12 – July 6th, 2008
With three decades of AMA racing under Red Bud's belt, it was no
surprise that the fans showed up in droves, even for Saturday practice.
It was pandamonium throughout the Michigan-based facility and the
racing kept the vocal crowd excited all day Sunday as Kawasaki
continued its podium dominance with James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto
adding to their respective winning streaks.
MOTOCROSS LITES MOTO ONE
When the gates dropped for the first moto of the Independence Day
weekend at Red Bud, MDK/KTM's Ryan Sipes snatched up the holeshot with
teammate Martin Davalos in tow. After one lap, Sipes retained his
initial lead with Davalos just behind. Ryan Villopoto scratched his way
up through a few positions to reel in the leader. It wasn't long before
RV blasted by the KTMs and took over the lead. Geico Powersports
Honda's Trey Canard soon slid into second with Rockstar/Makita/Suzuki's
Nico Izzi nipping at his heels. Izzi's teammate, Ryan Dungey, however,
found himself trying pick his way through the pack. Sipes, clearly
unnerved from losing three spots, battled back midway through the moto
to regain a position on Izzi. With Villopoto out front, Canard did his
best to keep the Sipes behind him while he attempted to reel in RV1.
Canard's teammate, Josh Grant continued his surge to get his speed back
after his hiatus from racing and the young California resident held on
for fifth place in front of Davalos. Dungey, meanwhile, could only
scrape out an eighth-place finish after his poor start. |
